How does my garden grow?!

I put my teacher’s hat on this Spring-break/Easter holiday, and what rewards! Guiding young people in creative writing was like sowing seeds on fertile soil. And, OH MY, how my garden has grown.

Caribbean Freedom Fighters, aka Ann Worme, held a creative writing course for 8 – 12 year olds. The young people were mainly from the Caribbean, and I was honoured to help out, running a short session that got the young people to write a story through a Write Along technique that uses story prompts and questioning. Below is just some of the phenomenal work they produced after the 25 minute session.

This is Amma Small, in Barbados, with the original Ananse story she wrote on the day.

And this is Amenti, in Grenada.

It was a wonderful time and I’m so proud of all the kids who took part.
